To obtain an Indian Tourist Visa, you will need to send:

Media related professionals, Journalists and Police or Armed forces personnel travelling to India for Tourism:

Apart from the above requirements the applicant will also need to submit the below:

  1. Letter from the employer stating the purpose of travel.
  2. An undertaking stating that the applicant will not do any media or media-related work during his/ her stay in India.
  3. Applicants working with Police or Armed forces, commercial pilots and crew members travelling to India for tourism purposes are required to provide a signed declaration from their employer, confirming that the purpose of their visit to India is purely for tourism and that they will not be engaging in their professional activities during their stay in India.

Regarding the two referees in India, requested in the application form, this must be filled in. If you don’t have any contacts in India we suggest you put

For babies and young children who need a Visa, parents are requested to send in a copy of the child’s birth certificate (scanned copy, faxed copies only) and a letter signed from both parents indicating permission for the child to travel. Parents are also requested to send a copy of their Passports by fax or email and to also send a copy of any India Visas that have already been stamped on their Passports. Please DO NOT SEND THE ORIGINALS. Simply send a scanned or faxed copy of these documents.
